This movie is currently in production and is a purely volunteer independant animated movie.

From the site:
"The story of Wolf takes place in the late 1920's in a semi-fictional area of the Grand Teton Mountains of Wyoming. At this time period, wolves were being hunted nearly into extinction in all of the lower 48 United States. This is sometimes called "The Great War on wolves". Our story takes place at the end of that 'war', when wolf packs were becoming very scarce.

Wolf is an anthopomorphic animal story, meaning that the wolf characters 'talk' and show humanized expressions, although they remain as true to their animal forms as possible. (As in Universal pictures "Balto", and Disney's "The Lion King")

The film will be a 2-d traditional animated film, using computers to color and composite the film, but keeping the character and effects animation hand drawn. The inspiration for the style of the film comes from classic animated films such as "Watership Down", "The Secret of NIMH" and "Bambi"."

I'm surprised that an independent group is undertaking this animated feature. It's no simple task to animate a movie (not that I've ever done it), especially with corporations like Disney and Dreamworks as your competition. I hope they finish it, produce it, and make a lot of money off it.

I've seen the trailer for Wolf and it looks promisingly good for an independent group!

The character sketches on the official site are good too.

I wish them good luck in the production, and hopefully it'll be a huge success!

Aw, I always wanted to be able to base an animated feature on that time period based on a book I liked as a child. Oh well, an unrealistic dream anyway. I just hope they do better than 'Spirit' when it crushed my dreams of animated horses...>.>

Unlike spirit the wolves do talk to each other. It'd be pretty boring to sit there and watch a bunch of woofers yipping and howling at each other.
Anywho, I think it's better than Spirit, but then again I might be biased since I'm helping with it.

You're helping with it? What do you do? Is there any art or character designs out for viewing by the public, yet?

Erm I don't think you can edit a post...at least not on this thread. O.o How odd. Anywho, I'm a storyboard artist and animator. Although I haven't done any animation for it yet. We're pretty much still in storyboard phase, but hope to get some major animating done this year. :)

*edit* ok so this is odd. I could edit this post, but not my previous one. O.o

No, I'm afraid there isn't going to be unlimited edit powers. You have to edit your posts within 30 minutes of writing them and then they're locked off. It's supposed to just be for the fixing of typos and such anyways.

Hope that clears this up for you.:)

EDIT: Oh and by the way, the film project, I checked out the website and it's looking very professional.

You ALL have my undying gratitude! :woohoo: Allow me to explain; I came across " Wolf" by freak chance when it was still in its early stages. Now, I am obsessed with " Wolf", so boo-yea! :P Besides, I know it's going to be good, because these people are doing it for a cause other than big $. Good, good people...
Okay, gotta stop ranting.
One more thing to do, though... :mischief:

:barf: $$$, money-groveling movie comps, etc.
