I was just reading a thread (now some months old) on a site called 'The Fedora Lounge') where a woman expressed surprise that another woman wouldn't let her children watch Betty Boop cartoons.

The woman came back with a post about decency and kids at an impressionable age, stating

"I have (in the scheme of things) a short window of time with them to try to instill the best moral character and show them the best role models so they can be the best they can be"

and then added,

"There is no Disney in this house, either"

Which led me to speculate, having just excluded the entire Disney catalog - what in God's name is morally corrupt about 'Sleeping Beauty', 'Bambi', 'Lady and the Tramp', and... I could go on.

And then, here's the woman's avatar. I'm speculating, because it's clearly a home photograph, that it's her.

Hell, she looks like she's in Sam Spade's waiting room.

I heard that some religious extremists boycott Disney due to the company's tolerance toward homosexual employees, giving same sex partners the same benefits as married couples and sponsoring events for them and so on.

"Mommy. I wanna watch The Little Mermaid!"

"Shut up and finish watching The Passion of the Christ!"

Oh yeah. There's irony for ya.

I'm so tempted to put the animated Passion of the Christ on here but I'm half afraid the reviews would account primarily of Christian bashing.

...plus I'd actually have to rent/watch it as well.

The South Park guys put out a 'Passion of the Jew' DVD I've always been tempted to snag in the used-video store. :D

And now it's time to point out the extra freaky-deaky. You have 666 forum posts. Show THAT to Mrs. Bible-thumping psycho animation-hating mom.
