If you're a regular Keyframe user you may be wondering... "Whaaa?!?!"... right about now, but let me assure you, the Keyframe you are seeing now has everything the old one did and so much more.

For one, we now have a Members List! And a Calendar! Private Messaging! Oh, and let's not forget, a FORUM! If you had an account on Keyframe before that account will now give you the power to write reviews *and* post to the forum. If you don't have an account, what are you waiting for? Get yourself registered! (http://keyframeonline.com/forum/register.php)

The user system itself is now a lot more robust, giving you more preferences to further refine your experience of the site. You will unfortunately have to pick up a new password--just go to Forgot Your Password (http://www.keyframeonline.com/forum/login.php?do=lostpw)--and you'll need to reset your avatar. Our programmers worked very hard to make it a seamless transition between the old site and the new one, but their powers are unfortunately only 'staggering' and not quite 'god-like'.

As Keyframe users, you've been posting reviews here for years... now we're going to take Keyframe to the next level and start building ourselves a real community.

So, let's get this party started!

Oops, one more new feature I should definitely mention...

If I could please direct your attention to the left sidebar... we now have an internal search engine for the site. Just enter the title of the animation you're looking for or a person that has been cast or crew on an animated production... it'll then search through the site--which currently contains 458 animation profiles and 4456 cast/crew--and return the results of its findings.

You still have the option of browsing through the various profile areas, but if you're looking to hunt down one particular production or individual quickly... well, you've now got the ability to do that too.

Thanks! :D

btw, I should add that if you guys spot any bugs in your travels around the new site, can you please let me know right away? It was a real mammoth job to combine the Keyframe code with the vBulletin forum and, even with all the testing that we did, I'm sure we missed stuff.

hrmm, like what's up with you not having avatars inside the forum threads...
We'll work on that.

hehe, I doubt it. The forum's only two hours old. :)

And the avatars are appearing elsewhere--the memberlist, your reviews--so I'm sure it's just a simple bug. Like I said, the upgrade was a BIG job... you don't normally take 200+ pre-existing users, all the Keyframe code I've written over the past two years and try to mesh it with forum software like vBulletin. It was a little strange.

Which is why I brought in myk--everyone say hi to myk--who was the one that figured out how to make it all work. I just sent him an email so hopefully he can fix it soon.

btw, when you say you need a smiley legend... do you mean next to the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the page?

hmm, there should be an edit button on any of your messages... on the right side next to the Quote... little scissors... I take it you're not seeing it?

I'll poke around... this may be something within the scope of things I can fix.

about the smiley legend .. I meant after you click the reply button .. and it takes you to the Title and message box.. and you fill out your reply..

First of all, I have to say the new site is very impressive and exciting. I look forward to the new community.

As far as technical issues: I was previously "Mad Scribbler" and now I'm back to "newbie." No big deal, of course, but just a curiosity. And apparently I've been a member since 1963, which is before I was born (and I can't enter my birth date because it thinks I'm under the age of 13).

In any case, nothing serious...I've successfully fixed my password and avatar, and as I said, I look forward to the community.

(In the post above: it should read, "apparently I've been a member since 1969," not "1963." Just a minor inaccuracy, and the Edit Post feature is not functional yet, so this is my correction.)

Hey Magnus, thanks for the heads up.
The usertitles are still being worked on but should be back to normal shortly.

I've changed everyone's joindate to something a little more sensible.

The birthday thing... we're working on that... I know how to fix it manually, I'm just trying to figure out a way to fix it for everyone at once.

*phew*... hehe, I suppose I should just be happy these are all fairly minor bugs.
