I was just reviewing our Amazon links and I discovered that Amazon is no longer selling a DVD edition of "Cats Don't Dance"... instead, they're only selling a DVD of a double-feature set... "Cats Don't Dance" paired with "Quest for Camelot".

The former I gave 4-stars to and said it was one of the best animated features I'd seen...

The latter I gave 1-star to and described as bottom-scraping awfulness...

I suppose this axes my chances of ever seeing a collector's edition Cats Don't Dance DVD with lots o' bonus material... *sigh*

Just reminding you they're releasing 'Hong Kong Phooey' on DVD.

I wouldn't worry too much. I predict that anything that has ever existed will eventually be on whatever media is current at the time, and that you will have to pay far too much for it.

The best and worse that the WB has to offer all in one complete package.

We in the UK get these 'family-pack' deals, usually I ignore them 'cause I have at least one of the titles alreadly.

Anyway, at least region 1 got a copy of Cat's Don't Dance released onto DVD, though saying that importing is quite a straightforward thing these days (regional control is a complete joke and fallacy anyhow). Yet it makes me think that these companies hate the world outside their home region (or at the least are indifferent).

Amazon stopped selling the single release of CDD... that's actually how I discovered the family pack because a number of people had tried to buy the old DVD release through our site and hit a broken link. I've changed it so that the DVD link now refers to eBay where you can still find a few copies.

My problem is that CDD is one of those movies I find myself recommending to people--particularly those with young children. Now what am I supposed to say? Watch the first disc and burn the second?

Buy a used copy of the single disc?

(not a very safe thing to do with DVDs which kids tend to manhandle, though)

Its not like DVDs can only be bought at Amazon. CDD is still available at Overstock.com for $6.99 and DeepDiscountDVD.com for $7.79.

It's good to know it's still out there elsewhere. I just tend to use a Amazon as a bellweather.
