Now they're going to reimagine it by "wanime-izing" it, making them all teens, giving them silly powers, and putting them in a rock band. I bet they're all going to look like metrosexuals. XD I hope this is just a rumor. There's a number of cartoons from the 80s that are actually quite good that could be rereleased. Instead, this happens.

Hey Toast, welcome to Keyframe. :D
It appears you're in BC as well. I wasn't aware that Vanguard had an operation up here...?

Thanks Athena!
Vanguard just opened up a studio in Burnaby this year and we are in preproduction on a CG feature called Space Chimps.
It's tons of fun and we have top notch talent working on it.
Being the perfect age for Thundercats marketing back in the 80s I was a huge fan had had many of the toys.
I am all for updated versions of past shows (The Batman, Astroboy, He-Man, TMNT) but this sounds like they don't even want to acknowledge the originals.
This is bogus. The thing that did it in for me was naming Snarf as the leader. There is no way that this could be true. This, along with the Transformers movie is slowly eating away everything that my childhood held dear.
I'm gonna wait for a more official announcement then I will post my feelings on my blog.

No problem, I’ve put it in the appropriate thread.
I've never had anything against remakes, they take their chances like everything else. I actually found the remakes of He-Man and TMNT to be quite superior to the originals*, mind you IMO it wouldn't take a lot for anyone to do that. Shame that those were cancelled, because they addressed some of the issues that I had with the first versions.
This sounds like a terrible idea, like the results of an executive suit meeting.
*Of course both the 1980 and 2003 versions of Astro Boy are technically remakes of the 1963 original; I take what Loop says in his review about it, that it may depend on which one you've seen first, but I quite like both the 80's and 03 series (and the later got me to buy the former).
