Well, Australia doesn't have vol 1, if that makes you feel better.
(disc 3 of this new collection sounds like it would make a good drink coaster. A whole disc of Speedy Gonzales? God! At least Sylvester and Daffy will probably be in a fair few of them, as he stole both of them as partners. )
I hope they won't have Salma Hayek come on and tell us about Mexican stereotypes in the 50's and 60's.

If this collection goes on previous form then four or five shorts on that third disc will feature someone who isn't Speedy, most possibly other mice.
There's also to be a Friz Freleng documentary on one of the discs (likely to be 1 or 3) according to Jerry Beck at the Animation Show forums.
Anyway here's a closer look at the box art. Looks like Sylvester about to have lunch. :D

Come to think of it, I'd buy it if it had vintage footage of Kitten Natividad talking about Mexican stereotypes.

Warner Home Video's website has a trailer for Vol.4 on their website; here's the link (the video file is in Windows Media, Real and Quicktime formats).

Thanks for the info and trailer Starlac. The biggets surpise on the set is definetly "Plane Daffy", I guess the WB might release all the old WWII shorts. I am disapointed there is a Speedy disk (why not give it to Daffy ?),ugly cover artwork, and Tex Avery getting the short end of the stick.

'Puss 'n Booty'
Type that into a search engine and I doubt you'll get a cartoon...

Well it gets most of Speedy's out of the way anyway, which means less of them to put on later discs. And there's always next year's collection and so on. The thing is, this collection is only volume four out of a planned ten, and if Warner's released all the good ones straight away then who would buy the later ones.
I wouldn't say that Warner's seems to be against releasing some of their war time shorts, volume 3 had 'Falling Hare' and 'Draftee Daffy' as well as three of the Snafu shorts among the extras. On the war front here we also have 'Forward March Hare' (the one where Bugs gets someone else's draft notice and reads the copyright notice on the eyechart). It just seems to be something they're planning on spreading over time, one or two here and there.
If you're looking at wartime and other shorts that'll have real problems, then look at ones like 'Bugs Nips the Nips' as well as the rest of the censored 11.
Mean while cartoonbrew (http://www.cartoonbrew.com/) has information on the extras, although some of you may have seen this by how (timezones and that).

I guess then we'll get more Tex Avery down the road then.

That is true, I hope "Scrap Happy Daffy" will get a release.

I think the WB may release them but with heavy warnings, probably with a Whoopi Goldberg and Spike Lee introduction on each one.

I am looking foward to the Friz documentary. I see that Bob Clampett supe..er....I mean "Bugs Bunny Superstar" is on the set.

Maybe it's just my Virgo desire for order* but I'm annoyed by the scattershot selection of cartoons on the discs. I wish they'd just started with their first cartoons, and finished in vol 10 with their last ones. As it is, when it gets to 10 volumes, how am I supposed to quickly remember which volume 'bla bla bla' is on? My Tex Avery boxed set is strictly chronological (except for the last disc, which has the early Warner shorts on it)
* that's a joke, boy! For instance, if I were obsessed with order, would I put lizards up my nose? It's doubtful, isn't it? Or if I did, they would be ordered alphabetically by genus and species.
