Anybody here sometimes get that feeling that they've seen a piece of animation or a show and they remember watching it, but it's so obscure that you can't even find references to it on google, so then you start to wonder if it was real or if you imagined it?

For the longest time I wondered if Wildfire (http://keyframeonline.com/Animation/Wildfire/229/) was a real series from my childhood or the product of being obsessed with horses at a young age.

When I was a kid I used to watch Aeon Flux at a friend's house, and sometimes after the show, at around midnight or so, another almost-possibly-anime animation came on. It was about a guy with a Jeckyll-and-Hyde kinda complex, who could turn into a terrible beast, like a sadistic version of the Hulk. To the best of my memory the show was called Max.

(I don't seem to remember either show being very good.)

I think I know the one you mean... they used to air it on Space (Canadian version of the SciFi channel)... the 'beast' personal was this big red guy with kinda big teeth that all came to a point... like his head was a crowbar or something.

I couldn't find anything likely on IMDb called Max though... although the name sounds kinda right but not quite...

Mine is a French cartoon called The Albatross. I know I remember watching it, but I can't find anything on it on Google. So now I'm wondering.

I also used to think I imagined Vikki the Viking, until my wife pointed out that she watched it on German tv.

For the longest time I wondered whether I'd imagined a show I remember liking as a small child, called 'QT Hush'. Turns out it was real , and made in 1960, though I wasn't even born then :/

I think the MTV show was called "The Maxx".

Yep, that looks like the one, all right. Thanks, MonkeyFunk!
Now that I remember it, I'm starting to get more curious about the character of The Maxx. I think I'll go see what I can find.
