I don't think we have a thread on Wall-E...

Anyway, I saw it opening day and it was FANTASTIC. Loved every minute of it.

I'm going to write a formal review on it later but just thought I'd start a thread where people can post their thoughts.

Oh yes, Presto was great as well.

Read my review. This film has made me go back and destroy certain "perfect score" films' long standing rankings. Nothing else just measures up except for a select few. I need to see it again to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

I believe I've caused a disturbance in The Force.

I'm going to be doing the same thing... although I'm going to wait a week I think before going back, try and let it sink in a bit more.

I actually had the thought walking home from the theatre that I am pretty much screwed for animated movies this summer--possibly even longer. How the heck am I going to be able to sit through "Kung Fu Panda" now?

Is it just me or did the teasers for the upcoming films in front of Wall*E really suck?

Although Bolt does look modestly funny.

Just saw Wall-E today. Will see it again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.....

I don't know if I can restrain myself from writing a review so early after watching it. Why aren't other animated films done this well??? At this point I am beginning to wonder if we are in the midst of another golden era of a great animation company: Pixar, the Walt Disney of 3D animation!

(of course, as the producer, Disney still gets to put their logo on the movie.)

I hesitate to say it, but... this might just possibly almost maybe even come close to approaching the position of Paprika at the top of my favorites list.
Gasp! Did I just say that?!

P.S. I still don't know how I feel about the use of live-action footage...

So guys... does WALL*E deserve to knock Toy Story 2 off the top of the Features list? I'm hearing great reviews here that have yet to actually be written. ;)

By the sound of it, I might just go and see this one at the cinema rather than just wait for the DVD. To bad I'll have to wait until the 18th for it to come to England.

BTW: I've never seen 4 stars as necessary being an absolute perfect score, more along the numeric line of 9-10 in the scheme of things.

Tv Guide stated this as Pixar's greatest achievement, a statement I had trouble swallowing at first. But when the credits rolled, I was like "Yep."

Trouble is. . . Pixar's known for their gentle humor and personable characters, not for deep soulfulness and some shockingly visionary fable. Will people who love Pixar for their jokes click with this new direction? That's hard to say. But during the second half, you do see typical Pixar giddiness shining through.

Hmm. Three days out and it's already made $62M. Yep. We've got a winner on our hands.

Phew! I'm glad everyone liked Wall-E! I was afraid no one would - not true!

And yes, Athena, this one will definitely take the top spot I think.

Doh! Greykitty only gave it a 3.5... and whoa, we have a new leader! (Toonboy, did you drop your Toy Story 2 review?)

At any rate, Beauty and the Beast has just jumped into top spot with a star-rating of 3.95 with 10 reviews.

o_O Drop it? My score for Toy Story 2 has always been 3.5 as far as I know. I dropped the original Toy Story. I also dropped Beauty and the Beast but then brought it back to a perfect score after realizing how stupid it looked like that.

Huh. Perhaps it was you raising your score for Beauty and the Beast that brought it over the top. I'm just trying to figure out how there was movement in the list without new reviews for either of those movies.

Maybe somebody else readjusted their score as well. I thought The Great Dragon's review of Beauty and the Beast was originally a 3.5 or something like that. Oh well. Not like it doesn't deserve to be in the number one spot at any rate.

On another note, I saw Wall*E a second time and plan on seeing it a third. It's just as awesome as the first time. I don't recall a more enchanting, heartwarming movie in a long time. I also don't recall the last time I saw a movie where I felt the urge to go "I've got to see that one again." If this doesn't win Best Movie or Best Animated at the Oscars I'm going to be ticked.

Well as you already pointed out, the animated line-up this year is looking kinda sad alongside this one. I'd be very, very surprised if it doesn't walk home with the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

Well, just compare this movie to Kung Fu Panda, the film running beside it...KFP will NOT stand up. There are no movies - animated or otherwise - coming out this year that could even compare to WALL*E.
