What do these have in common, from the Disney animated features made from the 30's through the 70's?
Lady and the Tramp
The Rescuers
(there are probably other right answers, but I'm after one particular one)

(can't edit that post for some reason)
To narrow the field a bit, it has nothing to do with who was involved in directing them, the source material, the crew, what sort of characters are in them, the music, the voice actors, or the box office.

Time's up.
They are the only ones set in the USA.

See what I mean - whenever I have a competition, nobody enters it.

Well, if I had noticed, I'd have said, actually:
They feature talking animals
Or
The main characters wander into the zoo.
I think that you'll find the Fox and the Hound is also set in the US...or at least, it features US wildlife. Bambi as well--skunks and opossums are native to the US, and both are pictured. Oliver and Company takes place in NY, I believe. I guess some of those are outside the time period stated, though...

All of them except Bambi. I considered Bambi but didn't really think it really unambiguously declared itself to be set anywhere in particular, unless my memory is faulty. Plus it was based on a book by an Austrian and there are skunks in Europe.
But there you are, they are still right answers even if they are not the right answers I was after.
