It's getting close to the holiday seasons again!
We have Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas coming up in the coming months, so why not ask:
Do you have any favorite holiday specials?
My favorite of all time: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (in all of its many reincarnations)
I also like the Charlie Brown specials as well.

My favourite Christmas special is The Year Without a Santa Claus (/Animation/The_Year_Without_a_Santa_Claus/76/) followed by The Little Drummer Boy (/Animation/The_Little_Drummer_Boy/82/).
...and "The Muppet Christmas Carol", even though it's not animated. ;)

I love the Muppet Christmas Carol. I also like The Year Without Santa.
I enjoyed Mickey's Christmas Carol too since I pretty much grew up with it and it became a tradition to watch it every year. :P

My apologies, the Grinch is also awesome. :)
My question is though... why aren't there any new *GOOD* animated Christmas specials? Virtually every single one we've mentioned here is from like the 1960s. I mean, they keep making them every year (*cough*3D Rudolph (http://keyframeonline.com/Animation/Rudolph_and_the_Island_of_Misfit_Toys/179/)*cough*) but I never find any that are even close to those old classics.

Gah. I forgot about that one! I like the Grinch, but it's not my favorite.
There's another one that I like called Annabelle's Wish. I've only watched it a couple of times, but the story is just so sweet. *needs to review that when I get a chance*

Robbie the Reindeer in Hooves of Fire, for me, I think. But it doesn't have much competition, because I pretty much hate Christmas specials. Christmas is when I switch off the TV and watch season one of 'Columbo' or something.
We don't have Halloween (is that how you spell it?) in Australia, despite attempts to market it over recent years, so that whole thing just bemuses me.

I love most of Tim Burton's films... My favorite holiday movie is definitely The Nightmare Before Christmas. I have the soundtrack and everything.

My favorite holiday TV special is "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". It was brillant combination of Chuck Jones' lively animation style, and Dr. Seuss' great dialouge.

Most of my favorites have been mentioned...The Grinch, Rudolph, Nightmare before Christmas...
But one of my newer favorite Christmas films is Tokyo Godfathers. Not something to watch with the kids, though, even if it were dubbed instead of subbed...

Nah...let the kids watch it, and then complete the 'Bad Parenting award' by letting em watch Urotsukidoju... ;D
