Well the animation is a huge improvement on the previous Asterix films, nice and smooth with nice lines and mattes and a better emphasis on character acting. The 3D elements seem nicely integrated together and the trailers didn't have the inane fight scenes that other Asterix's suffered from having.
From what I can tell, it has potential, not to mention it's sticking to 2D... yay.
I remember that Justforkix character from a few Game books that were made were he was the star.

This is amazing.
From Animation World Network...
The opening night movie was the impressive new Asterix and the Vikings animated feature (i.e., not featuring Gerald Depardieu). It is the most expensive European financed animated movie to date, with a budget of some $30 million. This is small by U.S. standards, where some made-for-DVD features have had larger budgets.
"Asterix and the Vikings" was made on what is considered to be a low budget for the US, but look at how good it looks. This film looks far better then "The Wild" and "Hoodwinked" and those cost far more.

Not to worry, I've moved it, hope you don't mind. I've also added a profile, a highlight image and the french cast list (I suppose I should add the English cast as well) to it. I've also got a image (attached) I'd like to use as a replacement of the profile's old main image.

Makes you wonder what Hollywood etc spends their money on doesn't it. :mischief:
I wonder if this will be called "too French" like our films in Britain are called "Too British" and changed about with. :irked:

I woudnt call the wild pretty at all, but it seems nicer to look at than that ice age rodent.. yick..
everyone's urged me to see ice age, saying it's so funny, but i can stomach that little thing enough to bother..

Ice Age is actually quite alright. Not great, but not a disaster either. Scrat, from memory, doesn't get much screen time except in the opening sequence.
