Profiles have been refreshed for some upcoming Disney stuff. I have to tip my hat to a pair of Keyframers for sending a heads up my way...
My thanks to ToonAnimator for letting me know about the first production image from The Princess and the Frog (http://keyframeonline.com/Animation/The_Princess_and_the_Frog/1089/) that is now floating around net...
And to Juuchan17 for notifying me about some solid intel on "The Little Mermaid III", which is now being called The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning (http://keyframeonline.com/Animation/The_Little_Mermaid:_Ariel%27s_Beginning/482/) ... a profile which, according to my records, has been languishing in our database since 2005. I'd still consider that voice cast list shaky but hopefully when Disney posts the trailer they'll be all showy about who they got into the voice cast.
(And if anyone else has the buzz on something, please don't hesitate to post it to me or, even better, directly to the forum. We want to hear about it!)

Another Little Mermaid movie. Oh my.
Yeah . . . and still I'm not sure of what the plot's officially going to be about.
All I know for sure is something about Triton banning music from Atlantica and Ariel falling in love with it behind his back while also trying to return music back to the merpeople. (Why does Triton hate music? - Hmmm, I blame the villain, perhaps? But really, we have no clue. Apparently, this film is far before the TLM TV series (which really needs to be on this site . . . *hint-hint!*) to the time when Ariel first met Flounder and such.)
I've heard rumors of things, and the official site on Disney.com shows a much better trailer than the one on the TLM:SE DVD (No more "Pirates" music! YAY. and actual new animation! Double YAY.).
Now I wait until the books come out . . . XD

I think I remember reading somewhere that it's tied with the death of Triton's wife. She loved music and after she died he couldn't bear the sound of it.

This might not be the right place, but I just found this rumor about a few more Disney animated movies coming out. According to this Zephyr person, Cars 2 and a Tron sequel are scheduled for release in 2011.
What do you think? Is it plausible? If so, are you excited?

It makes me wonder how many production crews that Pixar has. After WALL-E comes out this year, Pixar is scheduled to come out with Up (2009) and Toy Story 3 (2010). Brad Bird is supposedly going to work on 1906 (Pixar's first live-action film) and Pixar is supposedly starting to look at a trilogy of films based on Burroughs' John Carter of Mars series (no word on whether these will be animated or not). Since it supposedly takes 3 1/2 to 4 years to do an animated film, if Cars 2 comes out in 2011, they either have to have a crew working on it now (which seems to be possible, if they decided to use the production crew from Cars) or else they plan on using a lot of footage from the first movie. It makes me wonder if they are going to have a huge problem with "burn-out" of their staff.
I liked Tron a lot when it came out. I'm not so sure that the concept for the sequel is going to be as interesting now-a-days.

I blame Kingdom Hearts II. He saw what they've been reduced to in the game, and wants to stop it before it happens. Come on, Triton, you can do it!

Not sure what I think about that. The Tron 2.0 video game didn't sell well, but that's no indication that the movie is going to bomb.

I bring you an update:
On the official TLM: AB site, the sneak peek is up for viewing! It's about 5 minutes long, but it's only little snippets of scenes from the finished film.
So far from what I've seen, it looks pretty good. Ariel, Triton and Flounder all seem to be a bit off-character though (even for a prequel . . . but mainly it's Flounder's non-guppy mode that makes me worry the most). The animation's not too shabby (much better than TLM2 (CRAP. Total crap, I say.), but we can begin to flesh out the possible plot . . .
But the best part is . . . we get to see Ariel's Mom!
O___o; (Seriously, you'll think this too once you see her in about the first 20 seconds of the sneaky peek.)
Other than that, it looks promising. Here's hoping for something good to come out of this.
