Blitz Wolf, Der Fuehrer's Face and the Oscars.

According to Leonard Maltin's animation history book "Of Mice and Magic" both these films won an Oscar and the later Donald short came out in January of '43, not '42, and won the 1943 award, not the '42 one.

Just thought you'd like know and I am very sorry for any confusion this may have caused anyone. I've changed the info on the profiles to reflect this.

I didn't know myself, but I just had a quick look in the book to comfirm something about Flowers and Trees and discovered this as well (about Oscars and dates won). From here on in I'm going to go by the dates on the short listings in the book rather than the ones on imdb.

So, looks like Avery got himself at least one Oscar after all.

You might want to tell The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science about that, because according to the official Oscars database, both shorts were nominated in '42, and Fuehrer's Face won.
