I'm not sure when this 'clip' re-surfaced, though I have seen it before. These kind of 'outtakes' were made in the mid-30's for the amusement of the animation team. The Hayes code might have something to do this.

You can imagine the antics that groups of young men in close proximity would get up to, buckets of water on top of doors, paper airplanes, that sort of thing. Re-animating scenes and putting in naughty and taboo words was part of the fun.

However some of these antics were dangerous. Tex Avery got a paperclip in his left eye during his time at the Water Lanz studio, half-blinding him for the rest of his life.

The studios eventually stamped down completely on the horseplay, bringing in health and safety regulations.

I used this clip at the end of my wedding video in 87. It continues to at a "The End" and is a great addition to any video production. I took it off an old VHS compilation of hollywood outtakes. I have it in good quality on VHS but would love to get it now on digital. Any info???
