So has anyone seen any advertising for Doogal? It's got some fairly big-name people in its voice cast and I'm surprised I've been able to find virtually nothing else on it... particularly given that it's getting a wide release tomorrow.

I've heard about it. I also heard they re-cast it for the American release because the original had an all British cast that is not well known in the states, or something like that. :/ Might have just been a rumor floating around too.
I don't think I'll bother to see this one in theaters. It might make it to my rental list someday.
One thing that did surprise me was that the site has little information about the film.

Just watched the trailer and judging by it...:gnash:

Well the rebud has achieved one thing, it's pretty much killed off any of the British favour and dry wit of the original series. I'd admit that the British dub is nothing special, but at least it retained some of the source materials charms and got the voices near enough right to the original.

What have they done to Doogal, Brian and especially Dylan. I suppose the redub is for people who have never heard anything of the magic roundabout least alone seen one. It just sounds very odd hearding American accents coming from these characters.

All in all, was the redub really needed, if so then it saddens me, we (Britain) don't redub the American films we get. Did the same thing happen with Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit.

Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit both escaped unharmed (the only change to W&G being that all references to marrows were removed; the gardeners are now growing melons). Bob the Builder and Robbie Reindeer, on the other hand...

Has this one already been released in Europe? I could only find one release date on IMDb and it was the american one.

Also, does anyone know where I can find the UK cast list so I can add it?

It has had its name changed.

Doogal, was simply called The Magic Roundabout in the UK (though it's also known as Spung! The magic Roundabout); the profile for that is already up I believe.

Both Doogal and Spung! are the same film. So it'll be a case of merging them.

The profile for Spung! The Magic Roundabout has the original British cast.

It was released in cinemas here on Feb 11th 2005, and has been on DVD here since July 2005.

That's what I was thinking. That this movie and Sprung are the same thing.

ARrrghghghghghgh...
okay, I'll fix the profile shortly...

*edit* although it's weird that IMDb is making the same error we are... it's listing them as two different films.

Okay, managed to squish the two profiles together...

I know it's probably too much to ask, but I really hope the UK cast version gets released here... I mean, they did it with Robbie the Reindeer on CBC, so maybe it's not entirely wishful thinking.
