The trade reports that Branson has joined with Gotham Entertainment group, Deepak Chopra, and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur to launch Virgin Comics and Virgin Animation. The comics arm will be headquartered in New York, with the animation division located in Bangalore, India.

Shekhar Kapur described his bold vision by adding, "I see the future. It is the brave new world of entertainment. The art of the 2-hour captive, non-interactive product called the "movie" is history. Comic book characters - traditional and digital - are the new cult, the new religion. India's 600 million teenagers are now at the forefront of the creation of these new Gods. For these new Indian Comic Gods are derived directly from the vast ocean of Mythology."

I see the future. It is the brave new world of entertainment. The art of the 2-hour captive, non-interactive product called the "movie" is history.

And comics 'are' interactive are they? in what way? Animation maybe, when its joined to something like a joypad.

I think Shekhar Kapur has overlooked one tiny little detail. That people like watching (good) 2-hour captive, non-interactive products, now else would the cinema industry (and the animation industry for that matter) have survived for so long.
