Some tips for 3ds Max dragon modeling, texturing and the like:
-Always do each body part separately, e.g. legs, arms, feet, head, etc.
-Smooth it with three iterations.
-Make the scales work with Cellular as the bump map, a slight reflectivity, and slight specular levels.
-Save a lot of time and don't use a million materials. Use Vertex Paint. Saves a heck of a lot of time.
