Tomorrow will be the 7th anniversary of the site going online. I probably wouldn't remember this date at all--I'm terrible with birthdays, just ask any of my friends--if it weren't for the fact that during the first couple years the site had a visitor counter hailing X number of visitors since "Feb 11, 1999."
The site has come a long way... and prove just how far we've come, I'm going to open a little time-capsule for this weekend only. You've likely heard me talk about in this forum the 'old Keyframe' vs. the 'new Keyframe'... the new Keyframe is a sleak database driven entity that allows both users and administrators a great deal of control... the old Keyframe was an HTML monster of several hundred pages... the bigger it got, the more problematic it was to update... until the weight of the updates finally drove me to design the current site.
So why bring back the beast?
Because, between Feb 1999 and January 2003, over 800 reviews were written by people who visited the old site... 800 reviews that could *not* be transferred to the new Keyframe and have not seen the light of day since that 'old Keyframe' went offline... a fact which was my one regret about the changeover to this new site.
But, just for this weekend, you can take a little blast through the past... enjoy.
