Hi guys! I'm new to the forum, so please be gentle :-)

I've seen that there are so many different sequels planned for so many of Disney's (and others') films.... but nothing seemingly for poor old Robin Hood?!

So I was wondering whether anyone knew of any plans to make a new Robin Hood film in the future?? I so dearly want a sequel.

I know it's an old English legend that (in theory) is finite in it's tales.
But surely whilst people can come up with storyline follow-ons for Lady & the Tramp, Bambi, Aristocats etc... (the latter having featured a few voices of those who took part in RH in '73), there must be some hope for Robin? Isn't there?

News articles have said that John Lasseter scrapped plans for all sequels (except for some that were too far along in production to be economically feasible). Unless the next set of Disney & Pixar films do poorly at the box office, it doesn't seem very likely that a lot of sequels will be worked on in the near future.

Of course, nothing says that Lasseter will win all the internal battles and he could be forced to spend money on sequels. I don't think that anyone knows right now.

Hey BlackShuck, welcome to the forum. :D

It is a shame that in all the rampant Disney sequelling there was never an attempt to do Robin Hood, as I agree it'd be very easy to do story-wise. Another one that I thought they missed the boat on was "The Great Mouse Detective"--there was an infinite number of mysteries and cases that Basil of Baker St. could've done.

Unfortunately I have to agree with GrafSpee--the current buzz is that Lasseter has scrapped the DTV sequel machine. While I'm all in favour of there being no Cinderella IV, hopefully when things settle down they'll revisit the possibility on storylines where the sequels actually make sense.

In light of this, in which direction do you think a Robin Hood sequel should go? That is, what kind of storyline do you think would be the most attractive to the box office?
