This one is a lot better than Return of Jafar, but doesn't hold a candle to the original Aladdin. Had Disney alotted a larger budget for this film, it could have been great. The story was interesting and could have made for a great sequal, but it was not to be.
The major downfalls for this film were the horrible animation and songs.
Most of the songs do not contribute a thing towards the story and if they'd been taken out no one would have missed much would have been missed.
The new characters were interesting enough, I liked how they brought in Aladdin's father. Although they could have worked on fleshing out the characters a bit more. The voice cast was good, Robin Williams made it back for this one. Maybe that's where most of the budget for this one went.
This film had some potential, and if you're a fan of the Aladdin tv series it'd probably make a good rental.
