The great thing about this show was how it tried to faithfully present key stories from the comics including the days of future past, and the phoenix saga. perhaps jubilee got too much screen time, and greats like angel and ice-man did not get enough, but over the series, i think most of the great x-men got a spotlight or two. well done, but not as much for all ages as the batman animated show that ran at the same time. still a must see for fans of the x-men. this show's success really paved the way for the success of the live action movies that followed.

Ah, good ol' X-Men. the animation was superb for it's time and even by today's standard, the accurate anatomy of the well drawn characters still is something to marvel at. i can't tell you how many hours i spent watching this show with my brother and his friends. much of our inspiration to draw came from the chilseld, realistic characters, and the extravagantly layered fantastical ones. The story was so richly original and the mood and personalities of the characters gave the show and comics that much more life. this series will always be one of the cornerstones of great animation, storytelling, and not to mention, very real and personal characters. An absolute must see for the animation admirer.

I used to love watching this show. Sadly they took it off the one station my tv could recieve. I don't remember a whole lot about the series since it's been a few years since I last saw it, but I remember I loved the characters and the situations they were put in were interesting. Wolverine and Rogue were my faves. :)

X-men Evolution is holding well on its own, but the original X-men did things its spiritual successor just can not or will not do. It also went above and beyond what the cartoons around that time period did. Not only could you immediately identify its theme song, which contained no lyrics, by just a few of its dramatic notes, but the cartoon itself also made a lasting impression on children and adults everywhere, becoming an instant classic. It did justice to the pop culture of the comic books the characters stem from. It blended a very gritty atmosphere and dark themes for adults with an exciting comic book sensibility that was accessible for older kids. Not only that its characters grew and changed and never became cliches, and there were plot twists worthy of novels. All in all, a wonderful cartoon that I'm eager to see again in its entirety on a DVD collection.
