This was, and still is one of my favourite Disney series.
Although initially upset when I found out that the series would focus only on Timon and Pumbaa (don't get me wrong; I love them), I didn't even care about the absence of the other characters when I saw it. Besides, there are a few cartoons featuring Rafiki, the hyenas, Simba, and Zazu to break the series up.
The series follows Timon and Pumbaa's adventures around the world, and although it's absolutely absurd to see a meerkat and warthog travelling the world, as well as interacting with human beings, it works.
The episode titles are clever as well, with names such as The Pain In Spain, Rome Alone (which is chock full of jokes), To Kilimanjaro Bird, and Beast Of Eden.

This is one of Dinsey's later tv series that I really enjoyed. The first couple of season, I think, were pretty funny and interesting.
After that it was taken off the only channel I could get it on so I wasn't able to see some of the later episodes. The stories, for the most, had little to do with the lions, and Simba only appeared on the show a few times. The hyenas did make it into several shows as well as Rafiki.
Every now and then an annoying character would surface or a few of the shows would get repetative, but all in all I think it was a pretty good show.
