Here is another film that my Aunt Sharon has in her house that I would watch whenever I visit her; and I really enjoyed it, and it became another of my favorite animated/literary films. You know I thought the animation was very well done, and I should tell you that after seeing the film, I had read the original book (and also it's sequel "The Princess and Curdie" too).

I love little Princess Irene, she's cute and little her kitten Turnip too; I also the wonderful music score, and as I always say I love a film with a good soundtrack. So overall I love this film, and it's a fine adaptation of George MacDonald's wonderful book.

Ah, I've almost forgotten about this film!

Such a strange and yet magical story with characters that are similar, but different than your usual characters. The animation's not the best of quality, but it's not the worst either.

Here's a basic rundown: You've got the Princess Irene, a basically cute, young princess that discovers a magical secret. Her adventures with a newfound friend lead them into the land of the goblins. Sounds basic, right? Just watch the film! You'll like it.

Don't forget about the goblins . . . yes, they are grossly funny (very gross).

This is a gem. Not a perfect and well known film, but it's worth a watch (if you can find it).

One of the forgotten features of animation, The Princess and the Goblin is actually a surprisingly endearing movie. Expecting it to be terrible might've actually helped it to become more palatable. The animation is Saturday morning cartoon level, but the main characters stand out strongly. Princess Irene is wonderfully endearing as she is both pouty and well-mannered. The film's major setback is its rather thin plot. Another minor nitpick is its cast of rather uninteresting, and rather disgusting, goblin characters.
