Bob Clampett was easily the wildest director of all the termite terrace,he basically defined the word exageration.Bob took the time to exagerate every single expression or movement a character's face or body,so you would laugh even when the character is simply talking."The Great Piggy Bank Robbery" was an excellent spoof Dick Tracy,it was the perfect comic book to spoof since the villains in that comic were quite cartoonish. Clampett has everything up to his exagerated par in this cartoon, the expressions ,proportions, everything.

Not one of the more joke-filled Looney Tunes/Merry Melodies shorts, but still an interesting spoof of Dick Tracy. I'm reminded of that other short where Bugs meets Prohibition-style gangsters. That one is actually a little bit better. But in this one, the variety of the villains is pretty interesting, as they really do capture the flavor of Dick Tracy. It's also interesting when Daffy aka Duck Twacy bumps into Sherlock Holmes, as he's a post-Victorian era icon.
