You've got your standard African American sidekick. You've got your standard "too cool for this" teen dynamo. All the typical Disney cliches and trimmings, right? Right. Except. . . Somehow it's really funny! The Buzz on Maggie doesn't break any new ground, and yet it's still entertaining watching it. The humor leaves no theme, pop culture, or topic untouched. It rips into everything from Lord of the Rings to Night of the Living Dead. The characters also somehow manage to be fun and interesting to listen to and watch. The bright and colorful animation also keeps things fun and shiny. Disney may not have a new hit on their hands here, but it's about time they produced something that was satisfyingly amusing.
