And most of my friends would have preferred it be done in the style of Justice League or Batman instead of trying to be anime. However, the show did have it's highlights; using Trigon period, attempting to do Terra's story, and the future episode where Robin was Nightwing. Overall, it's OK for kids who've never read the comic, but it could have been so much more. |

This show features Robin (batmans sidekick), Starfire (Superpowered alien), Beast Boy (Can turn into any animal... though he is always green), Raven (goth telekinetic) and Cyborg (half machine) as the Titans. At its best when doing comedy episode with foes like the dreaded Killer Moth and Control Freak, this show never skimps on anime action. The first season was a tad slow, but season 2's adaptation of the Judas Contract with Terra, and Season 4's Raven arc were both masterfully done. Season 5 tried to cram way too many heroes in, but did offer up an excellent Kid Flash episode. Season 3's Titans East episodes were also fun. Other highlights were the mysterious Slade, sidekick Silkie, and the never unmasked Red X. Aimed at teens, but enjoyed by adults. |

It looked ... dunno, cheap and stupid. But since it's an animated show I gave it a try when it was first aired in Germany and it got right from the start. The appealing character design, the guts to sometimes break free from the storyline to be just as silly as a cartoon can be, the stories that showed that TV animation can to the things feature films don't wanna try because they fear they might loose their audience (TEEN TITANS has some of the darkest, most mature episodes I've ever seen on a animated show that supposed to be "kids entertainment" - "Birthmark", anyone?). Overall a very entertaining show with lovable characters (except Robin), animation that's fun to watch and some of the most well-written stories I ever had the pleasure to watch. This series shows what TV animation can do. It's not COWBOY BEBOP or NEON GENESIS EVANGELION, but still great. |

Teen Titans was an exciting cartoon series with a great comic book atmosphere and an unusual sense of humor. Often it seemed to follow the dark, gothic path of Batman: The Animated Series. The characters are brilliant, especially Robin, who has grown in skill and style since Batman: The Animated Series. Unfortunately, the villain, while evil, comes off as just another evil guy in a mask. And the show often overdoes the anime style humor and expressions. |
