The opening of this anime starts off with a chirpy "Sugar Baby Love", moves on to a doo wop style "waa waa waa", and the body of the song picks up with "Bop Shoo Wop", all while characters with eyes the size of dinner plates prance around with color and flair. If you can watch this entire sequence without feeling the urge to turn around and run screaming in the other direction, then congratulations. You've got the courage necessary to watch Sugar: A Little Snow fairy. Sugar by name. Sugar by nature. This anime is one of the most sticky sweet, achingly cute cartoons. The style is reminiscent of Di Gi Charat. Now for the good news. Sugar: A Little Snow Fairy is actually funny. The characters are warm and personable, and the things that happen to Saga and the fairies are hilarious. Sugar is both bratty and oh so cheek pinchingly cute, especially when she eats. And the animation is brilliant, thanks to the use of digital manipulation. If you're a fan of cuter animes, you can't go wrong with this one.
