Yes, this movie is a giant Michael Jordan advertisement, but I still remember watching it and being entertained. This is in contrast to what I cast as being a 'one-star' movie in which I come out of it wanting to claw my eyes out or demand that hour and a half of my life back.

Fans who want to preserve their memory of Bugs, Daffy and the gang should probably steer clear. If however you like Michael Jordan and like the idea of seeing the toons playing basketball... meh, it's not all that bad.

This is one of those films I have to ask myself: "why the heck did I watch this crap?". The whole film was awful. From the horrible acting on Michael Jordan's part to the sub-par animation on the Looney Tunes characters, the whole film is one big mess. It makes Looney Tunes: Back in Action (which was not great but was 100x better then this) look like Ratatouille.

I've heard some pretty bad things about this film but I was curious to see if it was really as bad as people said it was... turns out it was.

This is a very short review as there is not much I can (or want) to say about Space Jam.

The worst part of the film is that every character is... out of character and *shudder* "modernized". As Chuck Jone's once said in an interview: "I doubt Porky would ever say 'I wet myself' ". I should've taken Chuck's (bless his soul) advice and just skipped this all together.

And was there a point to Lola Bunny other then the feminist idiots forcing the film-makers to add a "strong female character who's smarter then all the males"?

The voice acting on the Loony Tune's part was pretty good. I though Billy West did a good job voicing Bugs.

Oh yes... Michael Jordan... CANNOT ACT. No no no and no.
The film is nothing more then a big advertisement for Michael Jordon.

Avoid at all costs.

Well, I'll admit it. Space Jam isn't the perfect film.

But I thought it was rather enjoyable to watch when I saw it. The way that the characters (both live-action and animated) were able to interact with each other was really good for me, but I agree, the storyline was quite predictable and the script was poor and weak.

But I thought the characters sounded good, even with different voice talents than the original Looney Tunes cartoon shorts. The new Looney Tune, Lola Bunny, was a decent love interest for Bugs IMO, but other than that, she was nothing more than "fanservice" for the cartoon-loving fellas out there.

It was good to see the Looney Tunes gang again, even if the movie kinda sucked. But the animation was the main highlight. The addition of the real people with the 2-D animated toons and the wild and zany cartoon gags and all were a good touch. Plus, there's basketball and Michael Jordan - what could be better than that? ^___^

In the end, where the story fails, the animation tries to make it up and does a pretty decent yet not perfect job at it. If you like basketball, Looney Tunes, and Michael Jordan, go check Space Jam out; it's worth at least a couple of watches or a cheap DVD buy at least. It's a good vs. evil battle on the courts that's welcomes back the Looney Tunes for a new generation (not sure if it was either a good or a bad thing though).

Three stars from me!

Although it's been a while since I saw this film, I remember enough that I can safely say it sucked. The plot is stupid and none of the Looney Tune characters were in character, except maybe Bugs Bunny. All of them were portrayed as bumbling idiots. And why did they need to bring in Michael Jordan? I guess they figured since he was in it people would go see it. Only thing that gives it a half star was the animation was ok.
This is one movie to avoid.

During the late 1980's and 1990's,The Looney Tunes stayed a float thanks to the brillant writing and direction of Terry Lennon and Greg Ford. That era came to a screeching end with "Space Jam". The only thing funny about this movie is it's laughable plot, why on god's green earth whould the Looney Tunes need Micheal Jordan's help? Most of them are clever enough to fight any sort of enemy on there own, well at least they normaly are. This film made them all look like a collection idiots, the only one that didn't look stupid was Bugs Bunny. Now I know that not all the LT gang was ever as smart or clever as Bugs, but put them all together nad they can all handle themselves.I think the biggest hit was Lola Bunny, who is simply not funny or interesting at all.I suppose she was created just to statisfy the P.C. police. The laughs in the film are few and far in-between. There was one moment during the basket ball game were the Looney Tunes gang actually corporated and were actually funny and in character, but that ended mighty quickly.Avoid this movie like the plaugue.

EDIT:I deciced to deduct half a star because it's too close to my rating of "Back in Action" and Space Jam was really awful.

It's interesting, when I think about it, that the second Golden Age of animation opened with a live-animation feature, and it more or less closed around the same time as the next major one. Not that I think 'Space Jam' had anything much to do with ending the Golden Age. I just think it was a pretty stupid film that nobody took much notice of, except maybe for a small number of people who found Lola Bunny as intriguing as Bugs did.

Let's face it: 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' this ain't. It's a hastily scripted, rather dumb movie that has none of RR's class, and exudes the feeling of a feature length commercial for what I'm not exactly sure.

I watched it when it came out, and haven't since. Yeah, it's kind of fun to see your favourite WB characters up there interacting with someone, but Michael Jordan? Who cares? Why not have made it Ben Johnson, if you're going to pick an athelete. Or one of those female weightlifters from Romania.
