Obviously inspired by the success of Song of the South and every bit as handsome and delightful as Mary Poppins, So Dear To My Heart is endearing and thoroughly charming in every fiber of its being. The live action actors are top notch, and the animation parts are attractive. It's heart-warming and intelligent without being sappy. Disney would do well to release this one on a special edition DVD.
