Anyone who grew up in the 90s will remember Rugrats. The show was Nickelodeon's cash cow the way SpongeBob is today. For those of you who don't know the show, the show is about a bunch of babies who are able to speak with one another and think as well as adults. They go around exploring the various places they end up.

The show had two runs of production. The first was from 1991 to 1994. The second lasted from 1997 to 2004. The two runs had their share of problems, though they were different problems.

The first run is, in my opinion, the better of the two. The episodes were more imaginative and they hadn't added a bunch of unnecessary characters yet. Despite this, it had some problems. Mainly, the animation seemed a bit rough.

The second run improved the animation, but introduced new problems. They decided to make it more baby like by brightening the show's colors and introducing more "baby talk". In addition, they began adding new characters, most notably Dil and Kimi. The show became less about exploring the world around them and more about solving the problems of the newcomers. All in all, it wasn't very fun to watch anymore.

If you have fond memories of the show, keep your memories and don't watch the show again. If you're interested in the show and have never seen it, check out TurboNick for a few episodes (as far as I know, Nick doesn't air reruns of the show anymore). If you like it, there are plenty of videos of the show available.

I have to give this show it's credit. It's great entertainment for little kids. The characters are likeable and the situations are very cleverly written. However, I don't know why it's still on the air after all these years. This show is good enough to last for so long, now it's pushing 15 years. It barely deserves 3 stars. I haven't watched the show in years, but I doubt it whould be any good for this long. Look at all the great shows that are gone for Nickeloedeon ( Doug, Ren and Stimpy, Rocko, Ahh!!! Real Monsters , The Angry Beavers). And this is the one they still repeat ?

This is another case where my personal tastes run so headlong into my objectivity that I simply can't tell whether I'm being fair or not. My hunch is that the series probably deserves a slightly better rating than this, but I'm afraid this is one kids TV series which has no appeal to me at all as an adult. It doesn't help that I really, really hate the animation style and character designs. Still, I can tell that it's cleverly enough done, and well enough written that it fulfills its purpose adequately. Just not for me. Come to think of it, neither are toddlers IRL. Why would I want to watch them on TV? :/

Yeah, it probably deserves a three or something, but if you think so, write a review! For me to go to a three, it's got to be something that I at least _like_.
