I quite enjoyed it! People might have liked it better if it were stop-animation though.

Clarice and Rudolph are such a cute couple. The night run they had together was beautiful with a nice song sung in the background. Toy Taker/Mr. Cuddles is one of my favorite characters. I feel sorry for how rough he's had it. The songs are wonderful. Except... I have to say the "Toys, Toys, Toys" song is a very obnoxious song! Give me the "The Most Wonderful Day of the Year (The Island of Misfit Toys)" from the original movie anyday!

*****SPOILER*****
The strangest thing of all, Clarice and Rudolph were awful forgiving to Toy Taker/Mr. Cuddles after he tried running them off the tracks, throwing lanterns, during a mine cart race. I mean, those things could have exploded in their faces!

This is better than I thought it would be! I actually enjoyed it!
The 3-D animation is stunning and beautiful. The way that the animators maintained the original shape of the characters of the original classic was very lovely. The voices were similar to the original and the new characters (mainly Queen Camilla, who had a "dancing-hippo-look-probably-based-on-Fantasia" similarity about her) were cool. The storyline was basically nice, especially Rudolph's "nose-problem" and "instant celebrity" situation! The little love story between Rudolph and Clarice was rather sweet and simple, mainly for the sake of the young eyes! This is a nice movie for the kiddies and the whole family to watch in the Christmas season!
Well done, but it's not the best. The original tale is better, but this sequel deserves to be checked out over the Christmas holiday!

Well, it's a direct-to-video, 3D computer animated remake of a classic Christmas stop-motion film.

oh, where to start...

I think the best thing I could say for it is that it's not terrible. There are moments that are funny. Rudolph's struggle with his new celebrity status and his "novelty" nose seemed like an interesting place to take his character. The song done by Queen Camilla was even rather catchy.

Unfortunately, those barest glimpses of hope are dragged down by truly dismal computer animation. I was spotting CG errors that I know the instructors at my animation school would've fried me for if they showed up in my work. Rudolph and friends have little to no facial expressions--basically eye blinks and mouth movement only... yes, my kingdom for a raised eyebrow... and the characters stay just a little too true to the jerky quality of the stop-motion original.

Probably best to avoid this one in the rental aisle.
