I think this is my favourite of the three post 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' shorts. Unlike 'Tummy Trouble' it doesn't repeat any specific sight gags or settings from the movie, and it's probably the best of the three at all-out, full-on, mind-boggling, amphetamine-fuelled action (which is what these shorts are all about, really).
'Roller Coaster Rabbit' follows the familiar set-up. Mrs Herman leaves Baby Herman in Roger's care while she goes off to do something, with dire threats of what will happen if something goes wrong. This time it's an amusement park, and she's off to get her fortune told by a psychic. Roger by now, is beginning to realise that something bad will come of this, but Mrs Herman is too formidable to argue with.
Baby Herman soon loses his red balloon. Roger goes and finds him another one, but not before Baby spots one himself - in a shooting gallery. The familiar cry of "I'll save you baby!" rings out, and for the rest of the short we're treated to increasingly rapid fire sequences of non-stop, hilarious action, which must have looked amazing on the big screen. Amblin spent a lot of money on these shorts.
You can get it on the Who Framed Roger Rabbit DVD, and if you don't have that, stop reading this and go buy it.
