I remember Recess well. Standing out as one of my favourite Disney Channel cartoons, it's packed full of humour, heart and morality. It may fail in the realism department, but most children aren't stupid. They know that most school principles are not cynical and bitter and there's no such thing as 'King of the Playground.'
I learnt a lot from Recess. Aside from the silliness and the humour, there's also lessons about friendship, bullying, telling the truth etc. The show seems to know that children deserve more than cheap retarded
jokes and senseless crap. On the other hand, it doesn't try and shove it down your throat either.
The characters can be a little stereotypical, but strangely enough, they seem rather original at the same time. They never fail to amuse.
All in all, Recess is a feel-good show that truly delivers. It's a shame that shows like this aren't made anymore.
