Potter Puppet Pals work simply because it uses the oldest trick in the book: wackiness. The shorts are so improvised and ridiculous that you simply can't stop laughing. The animation equals that: stupidity in frames. In any case the shorts are only light-hearted comedy that may not challenge your mind, but sure is effective. And to top all this it makes fun of the most popular children book in history (seriously, do I have to put the title?). 2.5 stars and that's it.

Question: Are you a hardcore Harry Potter fan?

If you answered "Yes!" to that question, go watch this cartoon. I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it and come back here to write a shining four-star review.

If you answered "Not especially," then really, what's the point? Maybe you can go take a look at it for curiosity's sake. It's a little bit funny, once or twice. Kinda cute, too, if you're into the cute cartoon thing. Gave it another half star for the silly humor, then took it away again because it's just so lame and dorky. I mean...come on...

It's a flash animation of Harry Potter hand puppets! Why is this pushing for a spot in the Top Five Web Cartoons listing? To quote Zoolander, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

Pretty funny if you've seen the films. Made me chuckle, but honestly, not much else. There are some youtube versions, but they seem to be non-animated, involving just puppets filmed live. As for the two animated ones, they're definately worth a look, but I wouldn't call them esential.

These seemingly pointless cartoons are just that - pointless. I love the randomness, and it is just plain silly. Although it's not animated, The Mysterious Ticking Noise is my favorite. (Pipe bombs don't tick!) The natural movements and good animation make the circle whole.

Another hit from Neil Cicierega, patron saint of stupid Flash cartoons!

Some great character animation (considering that the characters are, well, just glove puppets) and inspired silliness all round. I'll have to agree with Greykitty that Bothering Snape is the best of the two - it has that spontaneity to it.

Although I've never seen Harry Potter these are hilarious. The animation is smooth, and the voices acting is good. I'd have to say my favorite one is "Bothering Snape".
Even for those who don't like Harry Potter, I think they'd get a kick out of these animated shorts. Definitely check 'em out.

If you're a Harry Potter fan and haven't heard of the Potter Puppet Pals, then you've probably been living in a hole. And missing out!

Not only do the animations spoof Harry Potter, but they spoof kids' puppet shows (as in puppet shows BY kids) pretty brilliantly, too. Love the nonsensical dialog! And it's just fun to watch the characters, the way their arms hang loose and flop around, and the way the 'puppeteer' wiggles the puppets perfectly for effect.

The site is also home to the famed-among-Snape-fans flash of Alan Rickman photos dancing to 'I'm Too Sexy.'

The Ciciergas have a wonderful future in animation ahead of them, I hope, and I shall watch their careers with the greatest interest.

Funny!

Great stuff for Harry Potter fans. The animation is quite well done.
It's hard to believe the guy who made it is in his teens (I think...).

His other stuff is worth checking out too.
Check out the Muggle Pants animation by his sister (SHE'S ONLY 16!!).

Anyway, if you like Harry Potter you'll probably like or love the Puppet Pals shorts.

If you don't like Harry Potter... well you might like it since it's kinda spoofing off of it.

Anyway, good stuff.

James
