It grows on you. The first time I saw this neanderthal comedy I thought it was pretty weak, but later episodes revealed a sense of humour which wasn't obvious at first.

Though the show is called 'Pitt and Kantrop', the latter, Kantrop the Pterodactyl, doesn't have quite as major a part as Pitt, the human, and his relationship with the rest of his tribe.

In this tribe are some pretty worthwhile characters. The all powerful but ultimately impotent chief, his meat-headed henchmen, the cunning shaman, the chief's daunting wife, and Pitt's own rather 20th century parents.

The best voice actor, and most of the best lines, IMO, come from Keitch Wickham as the chief. For example in a classic episode where everyone (except Pitt) has decided that the world is going to come to an end in the next 24 hours, and everyone comes out with their innermost secrets:

Chief (to henchmen): Another little trick, gentlemen, the secret of a really good roast is not to put the meat too close to the fire (he sticks it right in the fire)

Henchman: You actually like cooking? (they laugh)

Chief: Yes! And so what? It being the end of the world now, I can admit it! It relaxes me.

(later)

Gentlemen - for cleaning those stubborn meat-burns off your utensils... water!

(he proceeds to wash-up, to their horror)

Definitely Growing on me.
