Muppet Babies was before Tiny Toons, before Rugrats, before Animaniacs, before the Disney Afternoon. It was an imaginative series, which used cuts from actual movies--especially Spielberg and Lucas movies--to show the imaginary adventures of a bunch of toddler muppets.

Who can forget Kermit as Indiana Frog? Or the kids imagining that their new babysitter would be Darth Vader?

While it's primarily aimed at very young kids, the show has its own mild, slow-paced charm, and parents can watch it with their children, if not with full enjoyment, at least without the nausea and cramps that Barney or the Teletubbies would induce.

This cartoon seemed to be required viewing for children of all ages back in the 80s. It was cute, funny, and showed kids how to use their imaginations to their fullest. Nowadays this cartoon might come off seeming like sugar water, but if it ever comes out on DVD, I'm sure it couldn't be worse than Baby Looney Tunes.
