This 1996 Lupin III TV special was more like Indiana Jones then a Lupin feature, which isn't necessarily bad thing but this special just dose not work. The plot itself is Lupin III TV special standards,Lupin and the gang race to find the treasure against the antagonist but there was nothing that makes you want to watch this film. The only interesting parts of the film was some history Lupin the first and Zenigata's conversations with the old police officer. The special itself was rather dull,it just goes straight from point "A" to "B" without anything really noteable and rather predictable.Seriosuly, who didn't figure out the main villain way before the end? Also, why was Goemon so angry at Sadachico? This was never explained at all.I guess the writers couldn't think of a better reason to put Goemon in this special, and boy was was his appearance convenient because he saved Lupin in the nick of time after being completley absent from the film. I think the only memorable thing from this TV special was Fujiko's and Lara's several topless scenes. The character designs were particularly ugly and the animation was definetly made on a budget. The music was very weak, the opening title was probably one the worst in Lupin III history. Overall,I highly suggest this as a rental for casual and hard-core Lupin fans.
