Well, it was kind of a letdown but it has good stuff in it. I really enjoyed Stitch has a Glitch which gave me hope for this movie. But watching it was like watching Stitch! the Movie only tying up the TV series and introducing a new, cool twin of Stitch on the dark side. The little changes to Stitch's design bothers me like they've had before in the series and Stitch! the Movie including his shades of blue being off (The Glitch movie at least gets him right...). Anyway, back to Leroy & Stitch, too much lame dialogue (Hampsterviel has the lamest!) and the humor is weak (the rhetorical question running gag between Hampterviel and Gantu was dumb and annoying). The movie just left me thinking I could do a better job, writing a fanfic of my own version of the movie. It's not a family film like the original and the Glitch movie, it's a total kiddy romp. Nani has a tiny role, David appears for a photo take at the end. We don't even see Cobra in this last film in the Lilo & Stitch world, only hear his answering machine when Lilo calls to contact Stitch. The movie's just ohana, the "friend" kind. Not that that's a bad thing but I kinda wanted it to have Lilo's whole family in on the ride helping too, you know what I mean?

Again, weak humor. I didn't like the laughing and carrying on over the name Leroy when there was a serious situation happening. So Hampsterviel thought of the name, get over it! Don't act like buffoons over a little thing like that when there are more terrible things to be concerned about! And if there's any name that's laughable, it's Hampsterviel's since he's been mistakenly or purposely addressed as Hampsterwheel by people in the series even by the Grand Councilwoman!

Funny, Leroy was able to hold the hundreds of cousins at bay at the arena by himself while waiting for Hampsterviel. They all act intimidated by this one little creature. Even funnier, the cousins left there while Leroy was out after the others didn't even try escaping. Hampsterviel wouldn't even lend a few hundred of his 50,000 Leroy clones to supervise the cousins while the original Leroy was busy gathering the rest?

Should probably point at the good in the film, huh? The plot is great. Lilo lets Jumba, Pleakley, and Stitch go away and do what they desire and they eventually become unhappy and homesick. Gantu frees Hampsterviel from prison who goes to all kinds of mischief with his new weapon Leroy. Leroy and Stitch are such showstealers. It was a thrilling fight they held in Jumba's lab (and Leroy's bald moment was too funny). I was fascinated when the 50,000 Leroy clones were lowered down on a platform from the Big Red Battleship. Hampsterviel has some dumb dialogue but he's such a neat villain. At prison, Gantu escaping with what he thought was Hampsterviel but finds the real Hampsterviel in his cell who fumes over Gantu's stupidity. (Has to be seen. It made me laugh. Put the image in my head of Gantu sawing Hampsterviel in half for a magic show. ^_~). The first shot of the 624 experiments at the arena together was awesome!

My favorite scene was in Jumba's lab, he's working on the clone of Stitch with Hampsterviel breathing down his neck. He puts on his Elvis singing Aloha Oe record and him, Hampsterviel, and Gantu just stand around silently, listening for 15 seconds. Then Hampsterviel goes "Why are you playing that annoyingly folksy folk music?" and Jumba explains "Uh, to annoy experiment. Is make him more evil, yes? Heh heh." and the song plays on as Jumbo pulls a switch to activate the machine and bring Leroy to life with electricity. It's just wonderfully eerie a tender song is playing while a monster of destruction is being created. I also liked finally seeing Experiment 625 (Lilo respectively names him Reuben) exhibit all the same powers he shares with Stitch. About time! He's neglected using them for three years in the storyline (since he was released from his pod in Stitch! The Movie)! And speaking of three years later in the storyline, Lilo, Myrtle and Myrtle's friends should sort of physically look like 10-year-olds now instead of 7-year-olds but don't. Lilo also looks better natural not wearing blush. And I want to steal her Experiments photo album. :B
