Well, despite the fact that I've only seen the English dub of this film and from what I've heard it's slightly edited, it wasn't too bad.

(If you haven't seen the first film, you'll definitely be spoiled. Fair Warning!)

Anywho, this film (in the US, it's called "Hugo the Movie Star" . . . sadly the title just doesn't seem to fit the bill for me) starts off where the first adventure ended - Rita the young vixen is back in charge of her siblings and Hugo, the cutest and rarest animal in the world (OMG. *spaz*), is back in his jungle . . . and yet it's clear to see that they miss each other's company . . . a lot. Of course, the movie producer from the first movie, Mr. Cupmann, wants Hugo to become the star of his latest movie and he'll do anything to get him. Thus a similar adventure from the first film ensues . . . however, things have taken a different turn for Hugo and Rita this time . . . and if I say any more, I'll spoil the fun for you!

The animation in comparison to the first is much more fluid and less sketchy. Some of the colors have changed a bit but it didn't bother my enjoyment of the film. The English dub isn't perfect, but it's not bad either . . . really, it could have been better! The music and songs weren't too bad either, but the movie really could have used both the dub and the original cut in the original Danish language too (I'm looking forward to seeing the originals!).

In the end, "Hugo the Movie Star" is a action-packed bit of fun that shows friendship, love, and drama that you would probably never believe you'd see in a kid's movie. It's worth a watch in the dub (I like Rita's dub voice more than Hugo's strangely . . . not sure why!), but you might want to see the original piece too.

Over-seas films tend to be pretty good, and that goes for the animated ones, too! I first saw this in its original Danish dub, and even though I didn't understand the language, the animation was done very well to the point where you could understand what was going on.

I felt that the story was very original, and I liked the design of the characters better in this movie as opposed to the first film. The voice-actors/actresses did a good job giving their characters life and personality. I thought Kaya Bruel (Rita's voice-actress) had a pretty voice, and there were some good songs in this movie; my favorite was the Hole song.

I suggest that if anybody's seen the first film, you should really see this sequel because it's a good follow-up, and if you're a big Jungledyret Hugo fan, you'll love it.
