Quite a few of Disney's animated classics, not just the new ones, spawned cartoons, some quite entertaining in their own rights. Hercules, Aladdin, The Lion King. Despite the caning it's getting here at KF, I enjoyed 101 Dalmatians the series the best for its bright cast of characters and lighthearted humor. Jungle Cubs, however, is the complete opposite. While certainly passable as entertainment, Jungle Cubs just feels like a watered down cartoon with very little humor or spirit. It's also weird. Why, for example, are all the main animals we come to know so well in the movie living together as friends? Even if they are cubs and they grow up to become enemies in the movie, the thought of Shere Khan and Baloo being buddies is just too much of a stretch of the source material.
