If you've watched and enjoyed the Veggietales video series, you will probably enjoy this film.
If you haven't, you may be disoriented. The pace is slow, the main story is told within a framework of an external story which is only slightly related (and rather preachy), and the character of Jonah is prissy and obnoxious.
However, fans of the series should enjoy the film and feel very much at home with it. The external story involves Bob the Tomato driving the kids to a concert...at which they never arrive. Stranded, the arguing kids meet the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, who try to show them the value of forgiveness by telling them the story of Jonah.
Archibald Asparagus plays Jonah, and he is the perfect character for it. His song, A Message From The Lord, is not only amusing and catchy, but highlights his pompous and arrogant personality. The French Peas appear with their usual exuberance as the fish-slapping people of Nineveh.
It does feel just a teeny bit stretched-out at times. Jonah doesn't have the same energy as the short Veggietales films, but fans should find it fun and entertaining.
