How can you rate a classic?
This is one of the films that most of us have seen every year for most of our lives. Yet it remains watchable.
The fusion of Chuck Jones' style with the art of Dr. Seuss is perfect, the film sticks to the book with extras thrown in, and the song, "You're a mean one, Mr Grinch," sung by the brilliantly bass Thurl Ravenscroft, is an all-time classic.
If you haven't ever seen it, crawl out of the hole you've been living in and check it out. It's not earth-shakingly funny, or tear-jerkingly touching, but it's a warm and cuddly family special which, I hope, will still be around a hundred years from now.
