This show is hilarious. I like the theme song..."Gigaaaantooor!" It gets stuck in your head. Maybe I don't like the theme song.

There's not much to say. The profile pretty much sums it up. Every episode is different, but at least all the ones I've seen involved some kind of ridiculous giant enemy robot that Gigantor beats up, because the world is full of evil geniuses who build giant robotic turtles. That fly.

For what it's worth, I have yet to watch this show and not buckle over laughing. I guess that's why I gave it an extra half-star. But it's okay...we're laughing WITH Gigantor, not AT Gigantor...right? Hmmm.

This fossil comes on reeeeally late at night on Adult Swim. Lord knows why I stay up that late just to watch cartoons. Sometimes these old animes are worth watching just to see how far anime has come since the days of Speed Racer. And then sometimes you realize that even after considering the standards of the old days, what you're watching is still crap. Gigantor is such an anime. I mean seriously. I can't watch a complete episode without snickering at how bad it is. First of all, he's called Gigantor. How can you not laugh at that? Then there's the pathetic animation. But even if you ignore the low production values, the cartoon is insultingly simplistic. I can't even begin to count how many trite elements are in an episode. You have the "Mwahahaha" style villains with the almost insultingly racist character designs. You have the fact that every goon of the villains all look the same. I even saw an episode where the villain actually said "I will now send out henchman who do dirty work." in the kind of broken English you either cringe at or laugh at. You have the "So we meet again" and "You WILL give me the formula" situations that make the chop socky kung fu movies seem like Gone With The Wind. And then there are the annoying things you have to wonder about. Like why is Jimmy twelve-years-old but can drive a car. Maybe I stay up to watch Gigantor just so I can get to the superior Big O. Or maybe I watch Gigantor because it's so below B movie level that I can just laugh at it.
