Much like the show it was originally tacked onto, Evil Con Carne is a bizarre little cartoon. It centers around a brain (of a criminal named Hector Con Carne) with the ambition to rule the world. Unfortunately, its bumbling and inept cohorts and prevent the brain of Hector Con Carne from ever experiencing any type of success. Although I think it was ridiculous to cancel it for "terroristic overtones", I don't think it was wrong to cancel it seeing as this cartoon is sub-par.

The storyline is almost always the same, Con Carne concocts a scheme, success seems within reach, and then the inevitable break-down occurs and Con Carne is foiled again either by his own hubris or by some sort of hero. The only original thing the show had, was the fact that it was shot from the bad guy's point of view. However, villians are almost always less charming than heroes, so the concept becomes old, quickly... Once in a while the storyline would deviate from the norm for something more "whacky", unfortunately the makers of this cartoon have the terms whacky and just plain stupid mixed up.

Onto characters... The characters in this show are actually decent. General Skarr has his moments, especially when he secretly wishes to seize power from the incompotent Con Carne. Dr.Ghastly makes a rather poor female lead on this show, she's just not that interesting, although her secret love for Hector Con Carne does produce a few mildly amusing moments. Boskov the bear is annoying, and usually the worst episodes in the series were the episodes that centered around him. As for Hector Con Carne himself, he makes a semi-decent villian, although they really could've made him more threatening or serious. He just comes off as a jerk who uses intimidation to hold onto power, and it grows really old really fast.

Music was tolerable, standard cartoon tunes and themes. Voice acting was okay, although I thought Hector Con Carne's supposed accent didn't sound all that authentic or very "villian-y". But overall it was as bad as it could have been.

Though a rather dumb kids show it's not the worst there ever was. It's watchable, and it does have a few laughs dispersed throughout its episodes, so I'm giving it two stars out of four, a mediocre cartoon with a few redeeming points that save it from being complete trash.
