I see a lot of people slate Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy as absolute rubbish. Most of them have never actually seen it, or have only seen several seconds of it, which is obviously not enough to make a fair judgement.

The animation does not look that nice but it carries a certain artistic style with it, which is rare for a TV cartoon. It looks like something that you'd often see spray-painted on a wall. The whole surreal feel of the animation adds to the fun.

The characters interesting - there's Ed - the stupid one, Edd (or 'double D') - the geeky but wise one and Eddy - the impulsive maniac who comes up with get-rich-quick schemes.
The background cast are given plenty of screen-time too and all have their own distinct personalities - including Johnny, the high-pitched kid with braces and Ed's evil sister.

The plots in each episode are contrived and silly, but what keeps them going is the level of humour. It's slapstick, sight-gags and just plain bizarre - Ed swallowing his matress, for example. Occasionally, it can get quite intelligent.

This show sort reminds me of a hyena - it's not pretty, but does not deserve its bad repuation.Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy might not be Bambi, but it's a cartoon, and a darned good one at that.

It's a 3.5, but out of sympathy I give it a 4.

Not to offend anyone who actually likes this show but I thought it was irritatingly horrible. I don't understand how this series could last for that long. Everytime I flip past this show I start twitching.
Harsh. I know. I get that a lot.
Sorry!

It has been on the air for 6 years, and I can see why. The scams that they pull off aren't that attracting, and the plot is next to average, but the comic relief, Ed, is something to look out for. The fact that he bends logic to his will by doing thing that no normal human could do (ex. swallowing a mattress) makes the audience guessing what he'll do next. I've been a fan of this series since Elementary School, and I'm still one today. If there's a new episode, I've gotta see it...
