I too, as the previous reviewers, mourn the lost of this outstanding series which only lasted 13 episodes. I watched them all and I truly felt like MTV was nuts when they cancelled it, while worse stuff like "MTV's Daria" outlived it. My recommendation: try to find a copy of the whole series, it's worth it.

It's a real shame that this series only lasted 13 episodes. I'd love to see it released on DVD, eventually.
Anyway, Downtown follows the adventures and misadventures of a colorful group of 18-20-somethings living in Manhattan. Its gritty, graffiti-esque animation truly lends itself to its setting, and the characters are all great in their own quirky ways.
Too bad it was so short-lived.

Downtown is one of MTVS best cartoons .The characters are realistic- all flawed in theyre own way and the conversation based humour that they provide (which is often accompanied with visual aids ) is very funny indeed .

On a visual level , Downtown excels .The graffiti style character designs are wicked and they suit the dark urban surroundings that the characters live in .And to top it all off , at the end of each show there is an episode concluding joke sequence that runs during the end credits .

Unfourtauntely this excellent show was cancelled after one season. ONE SEASON !!! Even crap like Family guy managed to out live this gem .Makes you realise how great things can be overlooked .Oh well. Since theres no use crying over a dead show - you may as well enjoy Episodes of Downtown if you can get your hands on them . Its a good way to spend half an hour indulging in cool tripy visuals without touching one drug !

Rest in peace downtown .
