This is a really AWESOME show! (better than Oddparents...sorry FOP fans but it's ture) I love it; also I am interested in the Occult...you know ghosts (the key theme for this show),vampires and other ghoulish things.

I like to say that the voice acting for this show is absolutely top notch (really goes the characters). My favorite ghostly villian is Desiree, the ghostly Genie (pardon me for the extra 'ghostly') and the medieval ghosts from the episode "Beauty Marked"; and on last thing, I think Danny & Sam would make a very cute couple (even though they deny it); So fans of the Occult, I highly recommended this show for all you to enjoy.

A few weeks ago I saw two episodes of this show. I hope I won't have to seen any more episodes.

This show has some of the worst writing, characters and plot of its time. Danny Phantom is very clichéd. Danny is a somewhat ordinary outcast kid, but then he gets ghost powers. He fights for justice, and so on and so forth. Well trying to maintain a normal life, and dealing with teenage problems.

The only thing I liked at all was every so often, we have a funny reference to American society.

I am really sick of this kind of show. If you want an original children's show, watch "Avatar” you won't be sorry.

Edit: I saw one more episode, and this show is not even deserving of a half of a star.

After Butch Hartman had success with the Fairly Oddparents, he must had thought he could do no wrong repeating the same look. Boy was he wrong... Regardless the ratings, this show is lame. It has one of the dumbest stories for a "serious" series I've seen in a long while. Really the writers don't put much effort into the stories, nor does the art department. Although most of the reviews have been positive, my personal opinion is quite contrary. I wouldn't have missed anything if I hadn't seen it ever.

It took me a while to warm up to this series, but I finally came around.

An enjoyable show, even though it reminds me too much of the Fairly Odd Parents. And then there is a goth...yeah.

But, its still a good show, that is fun and humorous. 3 stars!

This is another one of those cartoons that I find to be annoyingly overrated. Surprisingly though, not outside the internet fandom. I have yet to meet any fans for this offline at all.

I did try to like it, considering how many of my fellow communities talk about how great it is, but I just can't, no matter how hard I try.

The story seems ok enough, some kid that has ghost powers, cool. As I watch it however, nohing really jumps out at me. It's the same basic principle as all those mass amounts of programs you see on channels trying to lure a teenage audience. I am especially reminded of all those cartoons on Disney Channel/Toon Disney that revolve around some run-of-the-mill kid having powers, and yet problems with everyday life. It is becoming too common to my liking, and therefore it takes considerable amounts of effort to really wow me with these overused plots.

The characters are really plain, and I find it bothersome that most of them fuel stereotypes. Even the main protagonist has, again, a set of conflicts and personal issues that you see nearly everywhere. Interesting characters exist however, such as Vlad or Valerie, so I can't really attack the general character design and development entirely; the potential is still there.

The art doesn't do anyhing for me. At all. I never complained about the heavy outlines and flat looks for Fairly Oddparents, and I suppose it's because it was a comedy series, and the style matches or really is unimportant. For Danny Phantom, it doesn't do anything for the action sequences and only makes it even more boring and uninteresting. I'm not saying the artwork in general is horrible, not at all, it's just not suited for this type of show.

What I will admit out of respect for this series, is how they manage to put humor in it. It doesn't do much, but I appreciate it nonetheless, since most shows of this nature fall victim to teenage angst. Butch Hartman is a good man.

I myself wouldn't recommend it, not being to my liking, but there seems to be a lot of fans for it, so perhaps it only depends on your taste.

* note- it's a Nickelodeon series

WHOO-EEE!!! This my friend is good television ( though so dang cheesy that I'd be embarassed to be caught watching it by anybody but other DP fanatics ). Butch Hartman, I bow to thee! An utterly fantastic piece of work, Danny Phantom is one of the most original and refreshing tv programs of its time. The characters are memorable, the musics are great, awesome stories, and it has a great sense of humor that never seems to overdo it!
I had pretty much given up on Nick ( especially after they canceled Invader Zim ). Then this came along and I am completely obsessed! And yet, Nick is going to cancel it after its 53rd episode!! >:( Though maybe not if the papparazzi has anything to say about it...
Some people seem to have a problem with the animation of the show. People, it's not crummy animation, it's stylized. The comic book style, to which this series owes part of its originality, I've heard is quite rare. It works perfectly. And God be praised, the effin' people have FIVE FINGERS!! Halleluia!!
Overall, you pretty much either love the series ( or love it and think you don't ), or you hate it. I fall into the latter. ;)

End of rant.

An enjoyable series, I think it's one of Cartoon Network's better shows. Although I find the characters a bit flat, Danny Phantom being the only one who has any real depth to him. The stories are fairly interesting though, sometimes are a bit repetative, but not too terribly so.
Overall it's worth a watch if there's nothing else on tv.

Danny is likable enough, but I'm afraid that the rest of the show doesn't fire my circuits like, oh say, My Life As A Teenage Robot does. And Avatar: The Last Airbender is still the best cartoon on television these days. On the other hand, Danny Phantom is nowhere NEAR as irritating as Fairly Odd Parents. Fear not, fans. I don't even like Spongebob Squarepants either, and that's Nick's most popular cartoon. Maybe it's just me getting older, but nothing about Danny Phantom just screams to me "Watch me!" like all my old favorites. Danny's parents remind me a little bit of Timmy's parents--so clueless, empty-headed, and possessing way too many teeth. Thankfully, the similarities to Fairly Odd Parents end there. But there are a few other cliches. You've got the token goth kid, the token love triangle, the token bully, and the token nerd. Well. . .maybe the love triangle is what keeps it mildly interesting. But the animation style isn't really appealing to me. The ghosts look really weird to me, and the show uses way too much green. Again, this is just my tastes, and I'm not saying this is a horrible show. It's certainly a lot better than Fairly Odd Parents.

Finally!

The creator of Fairly OddParents (which is a series that I really despise) has made an awesome series that has great character development, interesting plots, and sometimes some unpredictable twists.

I first saw Danny Phantom about a couple of months ago, and it was like instant love (even though I started watching the series in the beginning of DP's second season; I later saw the complete first season and much of the second). I don't know what drew me into the show, but I enjoyed every minute of it!

The voices add much needed flavor to the characters' personalities. The style of animation was good (not at first, but it highly improved over episodes), and the typical characters are present: the constantly-bullied loner, the rebellious goth, the computer nerd, the captain of the football team, the ditzy yet popular "it-girl", and many others. I think you get my drift. The character drama is so . . . different than what you would normally see on regular cartoons on Nickelodeon, which IMO makes Danny Phantom stick out.

This is a must-see for anyone that enjoys the superhero genre in cartoons with bits of comedy, drama, romance, and kick-butt ghost-fighting action, this is it!
