This delightful animated feature by Hanna-Barbera is by far the best film from the prolific animation studios who gave us The Flintstones and other series (I am a H/B fan myself). The original E.B. White storybook, I think remember reading (and studying it) in Elementary School, but it kind of slip off my mind (until now that is).

You know, after listening to her, Pamelyn Ferdin, is simply darling as the voice of Fern Arable. Ferdin has the uncanny ability to sound both joyous and mournful in the same breath; and when she sang to Wilbur, it almost made me cry, So I love the dear little girl and little Jeffery-ffery the gosling who thinks he's a pig beacuse he likes Wilbur. So as to which version is better - this one or the new live action film that came out 3 years ago, well I love both versions (I'm not to take sides you know).

It's passable. I liked the live action one better.

Seriously, its a pretty "blah" movie. The story was right there with the book, but it was acted and animated quite poorly. And, for no reason, they stuck a barbershop quartet in there - singing about a spider who likes a pig - when you think about it, THAT was totally unnecessary.

The acting totally killed the story. Wilbur was so whiny! I hated it. The voices weren't at all fitting for Wilbur or the sheep. Charlotte was okay, but the rest were poorly chosen.

Ghastly looking animation. Okay-ish character design for Wilbur, but Charlotte was horrible. Her character design totally ruined her for me. Unnatural movements, mis proportioned animals, and it just looked ugly.

Worth a watch, but not over and over.

This film was pretty good when it first came out. As previously posted, it stays loyal to the book ending. The voice actors do a better job than the animation department (which is understandable for a Hanna-Barbera production and the time in which it was made). I saw it just two years ago and I still found it a good movie, much better than its sequel. Weather you know the story or not, I would advice you to see it. It is unlikely that you 'd be disappointed. If there is one thing I couldn't get over with that was the songs. I really hated the songs. ÇOther than that is a perfectly enjoyable film.

I used to love this movie when I was little. The story is heartwarming and the characters are great. This film stays true to the book and is the only one that actually made me feel sad when a spider, Charlotte, died.

Oh goodness, what is there to say about Charlotte's Web?

It's wonderful. Absolutely a great film that sticks to the book almost perfectly. The characters, the musical numbers, the voices, everything is great. Yes, the animation is sketchy (typical Hanna-Barbara style), but it was so perfect and suited the story so well.

If this film doesn't make you cry, I think something might be wrong with you. Bring a box of tissues when you watch this.

This is an animated gem of a film, so it gets 4 stars from me.

Thumbs up to the highest degree. Charlotte's Web is one of my favorite animated movies of all time. The sketchy Hanna Barbara style animation is its only weak point. Charlotte's Web is touching, funny, and honest. One of the most wholesome animated movies I've ever seen.

For anyone who hates it when filmmakers destroy a favorite book, Charlotte's Web is a comfort. It follows the book devotedly, and makes a good show out of it, too.

The songs may not be Grammy material, but they stick in your head.

This film will probably always stand as Hanna-Barbera's finest moment.

To say that this story is "charming" would probably be a gross understatement. The characters are wonderful from the flaky but very loveable Wilbur to the mystical, charismatic Charlotte. The other animals on the farm are great too like the stuttering goose and the greedy rat, Templeton.

The film's animation is not its strong suit but it does the job of conveying the story well. Keep in mind, Hanna-Barbara's previous background includes "The Flintstones" and "Scooby-Doo." It should be noted though that the character design for Charlotte is well done in that she's elegant and beautiful but still recognizably a spider.

The music in Charlotte's Web is by turns catchy and poignant and the musical numbers fit well in the story.
