With its talking construction machinery, primary school demographic, and concentration on boyish themes (such as pouring cement or building houses), it seems to me that the UK's 'Bob the Builder' is the logical successor to the phenomenolly successful 'Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends' (which looks stop animated, but actually isn't, as far as I can work out - and even if this show doesn't have Ringo Starr sobering up enough to do the narration).
What can you say about this show? It's English, it has talking bulldozers and backhoes, it's really fun, it's well-made. It's a damn good show for young kids.
Three stars, which is probably as high a grade as I'd give anything made just for kids. It probably deserves more.
