An underappreciated film, this second film by the Mary Poppins crew was funny, fast-paced, and even had action, not to mention nazis losing. My favorite part of this was the Portobello Road dance number. To this day I have to dance when I hear it.

When I was a kid every year for probably too many years, I rented this film to be watched as part of my birthday party. I just loved it. I loved the music. I loved the animation--particularly the soccer sequence. And I loved the film's climax--very funny and yet oddly stirring as well.

I haven't seen this in some years and I imagine the magical special fx will look somewhat dated by now. Still, I can't imagine this film that was such a treasured part of my childhood, being anything less than a gem.
